I’ve recently realised that I’m the type of person who can get very comfortable when it comes to dining choices. Once I find somewhere that I like and I know the atmosphere is amazing, I can easily go back again and again. However, it’s time to switch things up and see what this city has to offer. I’m now on the hunt for hidden secrets, spots that perhaps don’t get the recognition that they deserve but offer scrumptious food and fantastic service in and around London.
So last week, I was invited out to Breakfast with a friend to celebrate the end of my Masters degree (The status of that emotional post is currently pending). I knew that this would be the perfect opportunity to test this new plan that I wanted to implement and stumbled across La Petite Auberge in North London.
La Petite Auberge is honestly the cutest French inspired grande café, offering Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and Dinner. The establishment also has a bar, delivering a selection of wines and delicious cocktails throughout the day.
Arriving at the restaurant we were greeted by the most bubbliest staff, who left me spoilt for choice with endless options of where to sit. There’s outdoor seating at the front of the café, perfect for when the sun is shining, people watching and if you’ve got a pup. Or you can sit in the stunningly decorated main restaurant ideal for group bookings or lastly towards the rear of the main restaurant, which consists of a conservatory like area, surrounded by beautiful plants and a large glass ceiling. Perfect for letting all the light in and capturing those 10/10 selfies.
Spotting Avocado, Halloumi and Mushrooms on the menu, I knew what I wanted to indulge in the Vegetarian breakfast option. The service was so quick, I didn’t even have to deal with that awkward moment when you start tapping away on your table uncomfortable wondering where the hell your food is. My friend decided to go for a sweeter option and ordered Crepe’s by the looks of things…they thoroughly enjoyed the choice and I can confess that I suffered a case of food envy, despite being overly satisfied with my choice.
If you are out and about in North London or the Cockfosters area, I would highly recommend giving La Petite Auberge a try. Great food, fantastic atmosphere and it won’t leave a dent in the pocket either.
