Ladies That Dine: Bouillon Chartier, Paris
Tucked away at the end of a Parisian alleyway lies Bouillon Chartier. If you’re looking for somewhere that offers budget-friendly French cuisine in an atmospheric Brasserie environment this is a spot that needs to be ticked off your list.
Known for its line that stretches around the building and onto a main road, Bouillon Chartier offers locals and tourists a French experience at a rather pleasant price. When I say pleasant! I mean pleasant! A meal for two cost us 54 euros. Myself and my partner both had starters, a main and found a way to overindulge in a desert each!
The food itself is simple but delicious! After browsing the menu that changes on a daily basis, I settled on an avocado and prawn cocktail starter, Steak and frites for the main and some generous scoops of citrus sorbet for desert.
The service is quick and the speed that the waiters calculate the bill by hand on your disposable table cloth is ridiculous!! If you’re in Paris this is a spot that you have to experience and it won’t break the bank either!
7, rue du Faubourg Montmartre, in the 9th Arrondissement. 01 47 70 86 29. Open every day, 11:30 a.m.–10:00 p.m. No reservations.
