Ladies That Dine! La Cantine Du Faubourg, Dubai
When it comes to brunching in Dubai, the options of where to go are literally endless. At times you can find yourself feeling rather overwhelmed by the number of choices that are actually available to you. As mentioned in my previous post, this entire trip was booked rather last minute and let’s just say that prioritising my Christmas brunch location had somewhat been neglected.
Speaking to a few people, I soon realised that I should have been slightly more proactive with my approach, as many had secured their Christmas brunch reservations in JULY! I can confirm that was NOT a typo. You read correctly…JULY!! So I’m now sat there staring at my calendar sideways in disbelief like “Yep, it’s Christmas next week, a whole seven days away”. It got to the point where I thought to myself, if I have to hear ‘Sorry we’re fully booked for Christmas, but can I interest you in a booking for Boxing Day or perhaps New Year’s Eve?” one more time I would basically lose my shit! My rather conventional way of booking was clearly not getting me anywhere, so I decided to take the “It’s the who you know” route. We made a few phone calls, pulled a few strings and managed to get a reservation at La Cantine Du Faubourg, a beautiful French restaurant that I’ve desperately wanted to visit for ages! RESULT!
This restaurant has honestly been comfortably sitting on my ‘restaurants to visit’ spreadsheet for a while and I’m happy that I’ve finally managed to tick it off the list, it was definitely worth the wait. The French restaurant oozes Parisian elegance and an authentic sass! Situated in the Emirates Towers Hotel, in the heart of the Financial District, La Cantine Du Faubourg, hosts an electric brunch which will guarantee to have you eating, drinking and bopping away in your seat to the live entertainment.
It’s impossible to get food envy in this establishment as you’re able to indulge in a number of small plates and have the chance to try a bit of everything. Honestly, the food was exquisite! Being a huge Quinoa fan, their Quinoa and Kale Salad with apple, goji berries and parmesan cheese is still giving me flashbacks to this day! The tuna ceviche, the pan seared foie gras, the grilled octopus…my mouth is watering as I reminisce.
Don’t even get me started on the entertainment! Since lockdown, I’ve truly missed being out with the girls belting out some old school classics, with a glass of bubbly in my hand. Well let’s just say La Cantine Du Faubourg was giving me that vibe. Singers would rotate around the tables, performing songs from the likes of Chaka Khan, Diana Ross and Whitney Houston, I was truly was in my element once again!
If you can, I would highly recommend getting a table in their rather intimate terrace garden, which is fully accessible through the main restaurant. I can’t think of anything better than the sun shining, enjoying a cheeky beverage or two, surrounded by your squad in this botanical garden in the centre of the Dubai. Definitely check it out if you have the chance to!
